If you're considering serving in the Children's Ministry there are a few things to know...

1. A professional commitment to Jesus Christ that is demonstrated through Christian growth and is a model of spiritual leadership and lifestyle.
2. A commitment to the Children's Ministry team supporting the program, ministry and mission of Children's Ministry and First Church in general through consistent attendance at Children's Ministry meetings and training events.
3. A teachable spirit exemplified by a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through participation in a discipleship opportunity.
4. A desire to serve as a contributing member of a dynamic team praying regularly for the other members of your ministry team, the children in your class and the Children's Ministry staff.
5. A commitment to excellence exemplified by being in your classroom a minimum of 20 minutes prior to the beginning of your teaching hour, ready to greet your students, and adequately prepared to teach.
6. A member of First Church if teaching a class, or pursuing membership at next available opportunity.

1. You will grow in spiritual wisdom and strength as you prepare weekly for your ministry.
2. You will feel the personal satisfaction of knowing you have done your best to share the love of Christ with another person.
3. You will experience the joy of seeing children come to faith in Jesus Christ.
4. You will make an eternal investment by helping your students apply biblical truth into their lives and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
5. You will grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ, your teaching team and your students.

1. To seek out those individuals who are committed to serving Christ by ministering to children.
2. To provide our servants with adequate training to equip them in their role as teachers or helpers.
3. To provide adequate facilities, materials and curriculum and to keep these items in good order.
4. To hold up each servant in prayer and by providing adequate support and assistance.
5. To provide each servant or helper with a clear statement of our mission and job description for their role as a servant in Kids Community.
